Voximetry Announces Experienced Commercial Leadership Hired for Launch of Torch® Dose Assessment in the U.S.

MADISON, Wis.– Voximetry Inc., a Healthtech company with software designed to change the Standard of Care for late-stage prostate cancer patients by creating personalized treatment plans tailored for the individual, has announced the appointment of Michael Lafont, M.MSc., DABR as Vice President of Sales. Mr. Lafont has over 25 years of clinical and commercial leadership experience in medical physics and radiation-based therapies.

Voximetry CEO, Dr. Sue Wallace said, “Michael’s track record of commercial success and clinical leadership in oncology radiation sciences is perfectly suited to assure effective representation of advanced dosimetry solutions.”

Michael’s 25-year distinguished leadership career in the fight against cancer has focused on influencing decisions to advance patient care by deploying new technologies and adopting the latest treatment techniques. Working as a provider he has managed large scale clinical operations and provided daily hands-on treatment to patients within the clinic. Working on the technology side he has promoted the utilization of innovative technologies that have changed the paradigm of how oncology patients are diagnosed and treated with radiation.

Michael has extensive executive sales leadership experience at multiple External Beam Radiation Therapy solutions companies. As Senior Director of Sales for Varian Medical Systems, Michael was directly responsible for $400M in annual sales. He was also responsible for the world-wide sales roll out of the Varian flagship TrueBeam linac platform, a true global workhorse of EBRT worldwide today.

Clinically, Michael served as Vice President of Radiation Oncology and Diagnostic Imaging for McKesson Specialty Health, responsible for strategic direction and operational execution of two clinical subspecialities within the US Oncology Network of more than 100 clinical sites of service. Focusing on responsible growth and profitability, he achieved these goals through internally targeted educational programs for the network clinicians on how to appropriately use the technology already at their disposal.

“I love his story!” added Dr. Wallace. “He began his highly successful career in the clinic, took his voice to industry to help address the needs he faced while in the clinic, and then moved back to clinical care to complete full adoption of the very solutions he defined as needs in the beginning. This idea of “finish what you start” is emblematic of Michael and we are proud to have him on our team.”

While at McKesson he also managed the data consolidation of more than 250 separate server applications into four new, state of the art, data centers, deployed a PACS system network wide, and oversaw the creation and go live of the 63,000 square foot Texas Center for Proton Therapy in Dallas.

Michael is a Licensed, Board Certified Radiation Oncology Physicist. He holds a Master’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta, degrees in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Akron, and further post graduate studies from Georgia State and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
